Based on the data from the German Environment Agency - Umweltbundesamt UBA, I plotted the median value of all UBA urban stations in Germany for emission of two atmospheric particulate matters, the so called PM10 and PM2.5, which are harmful pollutants to human health. According to UBA : "Research studies of the World Health Organisation (WHO) have shown increased occurrence of respiratory and cardiovascular diseases at high particulate matter concentrations. Persons with pre-existing disease are especially vulnerable. Studies have shown a measurable reduction in life expectancy with increasing particulate matter concentrations. "

The following figures show the median of PM10 and PM2.5 value around New Year's Eve over all urban stations in Germany. The zero time shows the start of the new year. The rise of the pollutants are significantly an indicator of the fireworks activity in Germany.

and for MP2.5:

co2 trends in germany Median of PM2.5 value around New Year's Eve over all urban stations in Germany. These values are also influenced by the weather conditions like the rainy silvester in 2018, which shows a drop in the emissions. So it might be better to stay home till 10 am next day.
